Friesenhof to be closed down

The two remaining sites of the Friesenhof Child and Youth Care Institution are to be closed down. The “Töchterhaus Charlottenhof” in Hedwigenkoog and the “Dithmarscher Haus” in Wesselburen will cease operations by the end of this week. The closure of the sites has been approved by the temporary insolvency administrator, Mr. Christian Heim from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH.

Mr. Heim explained: “It is no longer possible to operate the institution economically. This is why Friesenhof must be closed down.”

The authorities will move the girls to other child welfare facilities in coordination with the temporary insolvency administrator. The relocation will be completed by the end of this week.

The Friesenhof Child and Youth Care Institution had declared bankruptcy at the beginning of June. The Local Court of Meldorf then appointed Christian Heim from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as the temporary insolvency administrator. The Hamburg attorney now has to prepare an expert report for the court in order to answer the question whether grounds for insolvency exist and insolvency proceedings can be opene
