Partial solution found for Technikwerker GmbH

11 October 2024 · Hallbergmoos, Germany · Business Area Insolvency Administration

Attorney Mr Daniel Barth from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH, together with his colleague Mr Maximilian Wanko, has found a partial solution in the insolvency proceedings for Technikwerker GmbH based in Dorfen. The company’s B2B division has been sold to a local investor by way of an asset deal. The repair service and business customer project operations have been acquired by MEDIA-TECH GmbH, also based in Dorfen. The parties have agreed not to disclose any details concerning the purchase agreement. As the B2C operations were loss-making, it was not possible to find an investor for that part of the business.

The insolvency proceedings were opened on 1 October 2024. PLUTA restructuring expert Mr Daniel Barth was appointed regular insolvency administrator, having already been the provisional administrator.

Technikwerker GmbH had been active in both the B2C and B2B sectors. The company ran a large electronics store in Dorfen, Upper Bavaria, under the brand ‘Technikwerker – Der Heuschneider’. Those operations had to be ceased. The remaining goods were sold off during the provisional insolvency proceedings. Separate to its business the general public, the company provides a comprehensive range of repair and support services relating to electrical items for business customers (such as hotels, hospitals and medical practices). This business is profitable and has now been sold.

Investor from Dorfen

“Unfortunately, due to a lack of profitability, it has not been possible to maintain the retail business. However, we have been able to find a solution for the B2B operations, which I am really pleased about. We will therefore achieve the best possible outcome for the creditors as well,” said Mr Barth in respect of the partial success.

Having acquired the B2B operations, MEDIA-TECH GmbH will maintain and further expand the successful business for commercial and public clients.

Mr Martin Greimel, managing director of MEDIA-TECH GmbH, said: “The acquired operations are an ideal addition to our group. They will allow us to expand our portfolio and provide a comprehensive service with additional offerings for our customers.” The team acquired has been specialising for many years in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment. MEDIA-TECH GmbH is part of GREIMEL IT-Systemhaus GmbH, which has expertise in IT infrastructure, services and security.
